Day in the life of…

…a glamorous knitwear designer. It’s anything BUT.

You may think I’m covered in knits. I’m actually wearing sweatpants and a hoodie.

You can dream of days knitting stitch after stitch for hours. I may not get to do that until 3pm, like most days.

day today

I’m writing my TNNA Lorna’s Laces pattern. I’m checking proof prints (also for TNNA!) of my wholesale order with Anzula. I’m petting sneaky yarn for the book, I am waiting on addresses for prizes, I’m being told off by my “marketing manager” if I don’t blog today, I’m waiting for final comments on the tech edits for Pompom Magazine issue 4.

There’s sweeties on the table, chocolates under the table, lots of hand lotion, and music blasting.

Far from glam, but not too shabby, I’d say.

What does your working space look like?

Are you a mono-task person or like me, having thousands of things on the go?

My working space is my messy corner of the couch. Husband and I agreed that we both need to convert our “storage” room into an office with a real desk and chairs. You know, like how grown ups work instead of college kids. ;)

I’m scared to admit how often my “office” is me squished into a bus seat making sloppy notes into a notebook and hoping I can read them later. It’s a miracle I get as much completed as I do!

I have a desk in the corner of the dining room, while the yarn and books are in an IKEA Expedit bookcase in the laundry room, but the magic happens on the couch mostly :)
