Bambeanies is the latest book from Woolly Wormhead, hat designer extraordinaire. With her previous books Woolly offered us sideways hats, hats for babies, hats with intricate techniques…. this one is a colourful explosion of hats sizes mostly for kids (a couple would fit our adult-sized heads too), with a varied amount of techniques and difficulty level.

Being the layout geek that I am, I praise the look and feel of Bambeanies – the writing is clear, evenly spaced, easy to read. There’s headlines, white space (perfect for notes!) and everything is explained. EVERYTHING – yarns, gauge, tools, sizing, she even offers us detailed graphics for joining the round, cast-ons, short rows and even grafting – a skill that many knitters fear!

After the technique overview, we are transported to a colourful, fun, delightful world. The entire book is modelled on Woolly’s own little heartbreaker son Aran and some of his friends! The hats are bright, vibrant and they scream “make me!” with a smile.

There’s styles to flatter every head and style, not to mention tastes!

From the easy-to-make Beamish, that results in a polished look

To cutie-pie Moochie (I’m so making me one of these….)

The classy Aurora…

… and the playful Tricable

Woolly Wormhead’s instructions are clear, neat and easy to follow.

These hats are just a sample of what’s in the book!

You like bobbles? Go ahead with Nupkin!

Little time to make a present but want to give something heartfelt? Polpo is the right hat for you!

You can buy Bambeanies directly from Woolly Wormhead here – both on digital (quick, quick, I gotta have it!) and print (it’s a stunning book full of information and smiles).

I like not only the creativity of WW’s hats, but also her outstanding pattern writing skills. Nothing seems too tricky or unapproachable with her patterns – and it’s what attracts me to her new book. You know each pattern will come alive and be fun to knit.

I have no idea how I missed this!  Please, oh please, enter me for a chance to win – Thank you!!  You totally rock (and purl) <3

What attracts me to Wolly's designs is the fact that they look so complicated but in reality, she makes them a breeze to work through. They are all so precious and look gorgeous.
